Michael’s first introduction to Istanbul was in 1970. He later came on a work assignment in 1995 for about five months. After living and working in a variety of countries, he was recalled to Istanbul in 2004 to head the Commercial section of a new Turkish airline. After two years, he was then transferred to head the company’s Far East operations, based in Shanghai, from where he returned to Istanbul in 2008. Michael has been involved in the BCC from 2004. He registered and set up the original BCC website. Michael is trying to improve his Turkish. He also speaks nine other languages with varying degrees of ability.
